The Experience: Karlovy Vary! A beautiful spa town, and the site of our second ISA field trip. I feel so lucky that we were able to visit this beautiful hidden gem, especially right when the trees began to change color in transition to the fall weather. Only two hours away, this trip gave us the opportunity to drink ‘healing digestive’ water [horrible tasting], explore for a brief period of time, grab lunch, and have a tour of the Becherovka factory. The factory tour was possibly my favorite, as it was interesting to hear about the history of this Czech Alcohol, and we got free shots! Although a short trip, I definitely enjoyed this city town. There was not very much to do, but I understand that the best time to head to Karlovy Vary is in mid July when they host a large international film festival. Despite this, I enjoyed wandering around and through the shop with my fellow ISA friends, and dazed in awe many times at it’s sheer beauty.
